HFSL Data Sources

Hanlon Financial System Lab provides data resources for teaching and research. Faculty and students can access those database by

  1. using Hanlon lab computers
  2. applying for database access

Bloomberg

Bloomberg terminals are available in Hanlon Financial System Lab, 4fl Babbio Center.

Stevens students and faculty can access Hanlon Lab during lab operation hours(9a.m. to 9p.m., Mon - Fri) if there is no class.

Students and faculty with Hanlon Lab access can enter into the lab after operation hours by swiping your Stevens Card.

Notice:

  1. Bloomberg terminal does not support remote access. Everyone needs to go to Hanlon Lab in person for Bloomberg.
  2. Bloomberg APIs can be only used on Bloomberg terminals.

Thomson Reuters Tick History (TRTH)

Thomson Reuters Tick History(TRTH) provides microsecond, time-stamped tick data – dating back to January 1996 – covering more than 45 million OTC and exchange-traded instruments worldwide.

Stevens students and faculty need to submit application to Hanlon Lab for TRTH accesss. Please fill out this form, check "Thomson reuters Tick History", get the required signiture and submit it to lab assistant for access. You will receive confirmation Email after the account is actived.

Wharton Research Data Services

Wharton Research Data Services (WRDS) is a web-based business data research service from The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania. WRDS provides access to COMPUSTAT, CRSP and other important business research databases. 

Students and faculty can get access to WRDS by register here. The registration needs to be approved by FSC. After approval, you will get confirmation email.

Thomson reuters News analytics (TRNA)

Thomson reuters News analytics(TRNA) is a PostgreSQL database maintained by Hanlon Lab. It contains News data from Thomson Reuters which reads and scores Reuters news articles in real time for algorithmic traders and market participants.

Stevens students and faculty need to submit application to Hanlon Lab for TRNA accesss. Please fill out this form, check "Thomson reuters News analytics", get the required signiture and submit it to lab assistant for access. You will receive account information Email after approval.
